Nutritionist IUnder general supervision, plans, develops, implements, and conducts programs providing professional nutrition services. Examples of essential duties include:Planning, implementing, conducting, and evaluating programs providing various nutrition services such as nutrition assessment, counseling, and education.Supervising subordinate staff.Developing and implementing the nutrition education component of public health programs.Conducting studies of local nutritional needs and resources.Providing advice, consultation, and guidance to human service providers, community organizations, and individuals regarding nutrition.Researching, preparing, and presenting reports on nutrition and related health topics.Researching and responding to requests and inquiries from the public and staff.Assisting in developing grant proposals and justifications.Preparing and administering program budgets.Examples of other duties may include performing other duties as requested.Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in nutrition, nutrition education, dietetics, or a related field, plus at least three years' of professional experience in human nutrition or dietetics. Licenses and certificates required include current registration as a dietitian with the American Dietetic Association and licensure as a nutritionist by the Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice. Proof of licenses, certifications, and education must be submitted with each application. Failure to submit proof of licenses, certifications, and education will result in your application not being considered.Conditions of employment include physical and environmental conditions that may entail travel to various sites throughout the County. Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a medical examination, drug screening, and employment investigation, including criminal background, education certification, and fingerprinting checks.
